Our Story

A horse enthusiast since toddlerhood, this business represents that natural progression of founder Kym Thomas’s personal journey through the equine industry.  

Starting out as a track work rider of racehorses and thoroughbred stud groom producing quality yearlings for sale, Kym’s career progressed to high performance show jumping and dressage groom, and finally on to being a competitive rider of her own horses.  

Eyton Sport Horses is a natural progression with Kym transitioning from rider to breeder in order to produce horses of the type and quality that Kym has always dreamed of owning and riding herself.  

With her riding ambitions side-lined in 2022 due to an aggravated hip injury, Kym finally took the plunge and purchased Eyton Sport Horse’s founding mare Oso Ladylike (by Landioso).  This wonderful mare carries some of the best available New Zealand warmblood lines and has already produced a number of lovely foals in training with competitive riders.  

The focus is now on breeding high quality warmbloods, supporting purchasers in finding their dream horse, and seeing horse and rider progress up the levels.
